HOLLAND & KNIGHT PARTNERS JOIN TO FORM AVILA RODRIGUEZ HERNANDEZ MENA & FERRI LLP
MIAMI (August 8, 2007) – Six of South Florida's most respected legal professionals – Alcides Avila, Wilfredo (Fred) Rodriguez, Eugenio (Gene) Hernandez, Patricia Hernandez, Daniel Mena, and Marco Ferri – have joined to form the law firm of Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Ferri LLP (ARHM & F).
The attorneys, most recently all partners at Holland & Knight, look to establish a premier boutique firm for domestic and international business and litigation, offering the same capabilities and sophistication associated with larger firms, but with the flexibility and personal service of a boutique organization.
The new firm brings former and recent team leaders from various practice areas at H&K, including the heads of the firm's financial services group; national immigration practice; and international litigation and arbitration practice. ARHM & F's abroad, domestic and international practice areas will include representation of domestic and foreign banks; domestic and international commercial transactions; domestic and international business litigation and arbitration; real estate transactions and disputes; business immigration, nationality and consular law; representing foreign entities in transactions and regulatory matters in the United States; multi-jurisdictional vendor financing; cross-border mergers and acquisitions; and traditional and non-traditional financial institutions with various legal issues. "This is a dream come true for us," says Alcides Avila. "We are a group of entrepreneurs with a common dream of establishing a premier boutique law firm. While we were all very content and grateful to be at Holland & Knight, we've always had a desire to be in a boutique setting."
The partners have known each other and worked together for years, in several instances, almost 20 years. The synergies they have acquired over their time together will further expedite the new firm's growth. "As a whole we believe that our value proposition to the client is compelling," adds Avila. "Our level of expertise in the practice areas in which we are engaged is unprecedented. We are now simply offering that expertise in another setting." The new firm will be located at 2525 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Penthouse 1225, Coral Gables, Florida.
