Marian Ancheta Llera is an associate practicing in the areas of international and domestic banking, as well as U.S. and international tax planning, including foreign investment in the United States, international and domestic estate planning, and taxation issues involving corporate reorganizations, partnerships, and S corporations. Ms. Ancheta Llera also has experience advising clients in the area of privacy including compliance with the requirements of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.
Ms. Ancheta Llera is admitted to practice in the States of Florida and New York as well as the District of Columbia and is a member of the Florida Bar including its Tax and Real Property, Probate and Trust Law sections. She is also a member of the American Bar Association, Dade County Bar Association and the Cuban American Bar Association.
Ms. Ancheta Llera earned her LL.M. (Masters of Law) in Taxation in 2003 from New York University where she was honored to have been chosen as one of only six Graduate Editors of the Tax Law Review. She earned her law degree magna cum laude in 2002 from the University of Miami School of Law where she was a recipient of the Dean’s Certificate of Achievement and the CALI Excellence for the Future Award both for Elements and Federal Income Tax I. She was a member of the University of Miami Law Review, where she served as an Articles and Comments Editor (2001-2002). Ms. Ancheta Llera was also a member of the Honor Council, where she served as President (2001-2002) and a member of the Moot Court Board earning Best Brief and Semi- Finalist in the 2002 Chief Judge Conrad B. Duberstein National Bankruptcy Moot Court Competition. Ms. Ancheta Llera is also a member of the Order of the Coif. Ms. Ancheta Llera also participated as a member of the Law School Ambassadors, Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, and the Hispanic Law Students’ Association. Ms. Ancheta Llera earned her bachelor’s degree in criminology (with minors in English and Psychology) cum laude in 1998 from the University of Miami.
