Gabriel Caballero is an associate in the firm’s corporate and financial services group. Mr. Caballero concentrates his practice in counseling domestic and foreign organizations (including banks and other financial institutions) in the following areas:
- Banking/Financial Services
- Corporate Governance
- Mergers, Acquisitions and Divestures
- Cross-border Transactions
- BSA/AML
- Commercial Lending and Secured Transactions
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Caballero served as Associate General Counsel and Assistant Vice President of Banco Santander International, an Edge Act Corporation and private banking subsidiary of Banco Santander, S.A. (one of the world’s top 10 banks by market capitalization).
Mr. Caballero is admitted to practice in the State of Florida and the District of Columbia. He is an active member in several professional organizations, including the American Bar Association (Banking Law Committee), Florida International Bankers Association (Legal & Regulatory Affairs Committee), South Florida Banking Institute, Florida Bankers Association, Cuban American Bar Association and Belen Jesuit Alumni Lawyers Section.
Mr. Caballero received an M.B.A. from the University of Florida, a J.D. from the St. Thomas University School of Law and a Bachelors in Business Administration (Finance) from Florida International University. During law school, Mr. Caballero was a member of the Moot Court Board (receiving the Best Oral Advocate award), Phi Delta Phi and the International Law Society. He also served as a two-time president of the Hispanic American Legal Society and was awarded a scholarship by the Cuban American Bar Association for his distinguished service.
